Requirements

  • The modeling portion of this course is not covered, and you will need to know how to generate a 3D model for your projects. (There are 3D models included in the course).
  • Substance 3D Painter version 7.4.1 or above is required.

Projects for the course

We’ll begin by familiarizing ourselves with the Substance 3D Painter user interface and navigation.

In Chapter Two, we create a realistic texture for an ancient telephone.

The hand-painted texturing was not overlooked! In Chapter Three, we’ll use hand-painting methods to create a texture for a sci-fi item.

In Substance 3D Painter, we learn how to utilize outside material in chapter four. Materials from Substance 3D Designer, for example.

Finally, we’ll add an organic element to the mix. We’ll create a texture for an organic element in Chapter 5 and learn how to apply subsurface scattering in Substance 3D Painter.
