Description
Welcome to my overview on sketching a face.
The main focus of this video is to share specific details that I have memorized when drawing a face— in this case, a woman.
These details are very specific for high-speed deadlines and are very important to focus on for accentuation of the right details in a fast delivery…
I work in the commercial art industry and am called upon to turn around a high volume of work in a short time. Just a week before this video, one job had the client needing 4 drawings within 8 hours. But in the first couple hours of that 8-hour time, I also have to deliver rough pencils for approval to make sure the composition and layout (as well as the look and feel of the people/characters) read very quickly, and clearly. There isn’t time to sit and adjust each feature as if working on a portrait commission. You have laid down the details fast, and move on— Or miss the deadline.
So I hope you enjoy this video, and that it will give you a basic understanding of the foundation of how my creative process works when I am working on any projects— fast or slow. And I hope you will also check out my other videos on here, as well as stay tuned for many more to come.
