Building SQL Queries with Excel

When you work with databases, SQL is the standard language that you use.

To help you with this course, I’ll show you how to write SQL scripts from scratch step by step. You’ll use these scripts to do things like insert and update a lot of records at once. The skills you learn in this course will help you be more confident when you do bulk SQL requests in a real-world setting.

SQL lets you get into and change databases.

American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) made SQL a standard in 1986 and 1987, respectively.

SQL can do what?

• SQL can get information from a database.
• The SQL can add records to a database.
• SQL can change the records in a database.
• can delete records from a database with the SQL language
• SQL can build new databases.
• Can make new tables in a database with SQL.
• SQL can make different views in a database.
• This means that SQL can make sure that only certain people can see certain tables and procedures.

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet that Microsoft made for Windows, Mac OS, Android, and iOS. It has tools for making calculations, graphs, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.

As a database developer and administrator, you will be making queries all the time. Sometimes, you also need to write a lot of SQL queries to add or change a lot of records.
